Okay so—Destiny guys and gals, wake up, there’s drama in the orbit again.
A credible Bungie leaker (yes, the kind the Destiny community collectively stalks like cryptid hunters) is claiming that Destiny 3 is officially in extremely early development.
And Tumblr collectively said: oh? oh??
🌌 Destiny 3 Rumors Hit the Timeline
Twitter user Colony Deaks, a name that’s floated around a few accurate leaks in the past, dropped a little lore nugget onto the timeline:
“Yes, Destiny 3 is in extremely early development.”
Apparently they’ve been sitting on this for weeks—very Last Word energy—only to reveal it because someone else posted about it “carelessly for free internet points.”
(Truly the most Destiny-flavored insult possible.)
The leaked info suggests the project is still microscopic. Like, amoeba stage. Like, “we made a mood board and argued for 3 hours about the vibe” stage.
They also added they’ll share “more info in the coming months,” which in Destiny time means anywhere between two weeks and the heat death of the universe.

Destiny launched in 2014, Destiny 2 in 2017, and since then Bungie has been busy giving us:
- Raids that break friendships
- Expansions that break the servers
- Cosmetics that break wallets
- A Star Wars collab no one was emotionally prepared for
Despite lawsuits, layoffs, content droughts, and whatever the hell Lightfall’s story was trying to be… the community still shows up. Like incredibly loyal space gremlins.
Meanwhile, Bungie is still cooking Marathon, set for 2026, so the idea that they’re ALSO stirring a Destiny 3 pot in the background feels… chaotically on brand.
🧂 BUT—Salt. So much salt.
There’s no official confirmation from Bungie.
There may never be.
Destiny leaks exist in a quantum state: both true and false until a ViDoc drops.
And even if Destiny 3 is real, “early development” could literally mean:
- A pitch deck
- A Google Doc with 2 bullet points and a vibes playlist
- One screenshot of a rock someone really liked
- A meeting note that says “what if we made it good again?”
In other words: don’t expect a trailer next week. Or next year. Or possibly before the Traveller actually ascends.

A fresh start.
A story reset that doesn’t require watching 17 hour-long Byf videos.
An engine that doesn’t scream like a dying Vex every time you load into the EDZ.
Raids designed without PS4 limitations in mind.
Zavala perhaps getting more than 3 lines a year.
Honestly? Could be beautiful.
